The 2025 Knovo Technology in Design Innovation Scholarship celebrates students who push the boundaries of design through technology. This $2,500 award recognizes how innovative tools can spark new design concepts, enhance visualization, and reimagine how spaces are experienced. SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

THE AWARD

Knovo will hand-select one student through a blind review to be recognized as the recipient of this scholarship.

One student will be selected to receive the following:

  • A $2,500 Scholarship*
  • 20 hours of virtual mentoring** with Knovo Design Professionals**
  • Expenses will be covered (airfare, hotel, event tickets, and per diem) for the recipient to attend the 2025 PAVE Gala on December 11th in New York City to network and make new connections.

 
* Award sent directly to the recipient's institution, to be applied directly towards tuition or other applicable schooling costs.
**The virtual learning experience will occur on a mutually agreed-upon date.



ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES​

  • Student must be a 2nd, 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate or graduate student (any year) working towards a degree in interior design, architecture or a related field, with an interest in pursuing a career in retail environments. 
  • Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Student must be a current full-time student, enrolled in at least 12 credit hours, or equivalent per their program requirements (i.e. internships, studio, etc.).
  • Student must be located and studying within the United States or Canada.



APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

The following items must be included in your application for your request to be considered.​​
 

  • Create a case study (3-5 pages max, includes 2 pages of imagery max) demonstrating how a technology such as generative AI, AR/VR, parametric modeling, or digital twins can fuel creativity, bring ideas to life, and enhance one or more stages of design delivery. Submissions should illustrate how the chosen technology supports end-to-end design development (from pre-construction to post-occupancy), by enhancing visualization, inspiring new concepts, or reimagining how spaces are experienced.
  • Portfolio (8-10 Pages Max) Highlights of your most recent work related to Technology in Design, with a preference on retail related work. Can be student or professional-based.
  • One written letter of reference. Can be a professor, faculty member, or an employer (including internship supervisors). References cannot be friends or family members. 
  • Must include a complete copy of your current transcript (official or unofficial).
  • Applications and supporting documents must be submitted through Submittable.
  • All applications must be received by Friday, October 17, 2025, by 11:59 PM Eastern/8:59 PM Pacific to be considered.
