The PAVE Student Aid Program supports college-level students studying retail design, interior design, architecture, visual merchandising, industrial design, UX/UI design, graphic design, product design, and other similar programs preparing them for careers related to the creation of consumer environments who are experiencing financial difficulties.
The intent is to provide for basic needs such as food, housing, books, tuition, health insurance, medical bills, utilities, transportation, etc.
Students who are interested in applying should review the guidelines below and submit a completed application, with supporting documents, by Wednesday, October 23, 2024, by 11:59 PM Eastern/8:59 PM Pacific.
GUIDELINES:
- Student must be enrolled in a program working toward a degree related to the creation of consumer environments, i.e. in visual merchandising, store design, interior design, architecture, graphic design, industrial design, or similar.
- Student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better based on a 4.0 GPA scale.
- Student must be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.
- $1,000 USD per student will be awarded.
APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE:
The following four items must be submitted with your application form for your request to be considered.
- Letter of Explanation (500 words max): A letter explaining the reason for the request. Must show a compelling need for this special aid, with a detailed explanation of your situation and anticipated use of the funds.
- Work Sample (1-2 pages max): Highlights of your most recent design work. Must be individual work, cannot be a group project.
- One reference: We will need a phone number and email address of your reference. Can be a professor, faculty member, or an employer (including internship supervisors). References CANNOT be friends or family members.
- Copy of your current transcript (official or unofficial).
Both merit and need-based criteria will be used when determining recipients. Applicants’ GPA and level of need will be considered.
